That when DH was sick a few weeks ago that he got to spend all day in bed while i looked after him and DS who was also unwell.. and didn't ask him to lift a finger..

But this last couple of days while i've been really ill with very bad cold that he's been bitching because i didn't want to be in our kitchen.. which has NO heating.. to do the drying up.. and just want to lay on the sofa and die once he's around having had to watch DS all day?

Why do men get to "die" of manflu.. where's my lemsip and sympathy?

Well

in the nicest possible way

Why on earth do you LET him? Such an attitude would not be tolerated (either from me OR MrFillyjonk) in my house.
Sick people need to rest, unless it is impossible due to kids.

kayzisbroody · 22/02/2008 07:56

My dh does exactly the same. When I was last ill I had to look after ds just as normal. When dh was ill I asked him to feed ds once so I could have a shower and his response was that he was dying!!

It was only a cold he had!

colditz · 22/02/2008 08:14

The word is

NO

"Oh babe, make me a Lemsip, I'm really poorly..."

Consider ... did he do the same for you last time you were ill? No?

Then the answer is "No. I'm not a nurse."

RubySlippers · 22/02/2008 08:16

there is a rule in the Ruby Household

unless you have a temperature you are not allowed to slob on the sofa in trackie bottoms repeating endlessly that you are dying

head colds are treated with 2 ibuprofen and a kick up the arse!

cornsilk · 22/02/2008 08:21

Just get in bed and don't get out of it.

SpiritualKnot · 22/02/2008 08:29

Poor you. But must agree that you need to be in bed not on the sofa.

Husband always lies on the sofa when he's ill and it irritates me like mad....keep telling him to please go to bed.

Curl up in bed, preferably with a TV and stay there till you're better!

totally in agreement with Colditz. and Fillyjonk. and SK. and RubySlippers.

just go to bed. shut the door. threaten dire consequences if he disturbs you for anything other than the most urgent emergency (like the house falling down or being on fire).

and if he doesn't play ball, remember it for next time he's ill. fair do's.

theUrbanDryad · 22/02/2008 08:37

in the meantime have a look at this to cheer yourself up!!

Emprexia · 22/02/2008 09:52

does a 99.8 reading count as a temperature?

I would go to bed, but he works nights, so its occupied.
Day 3 today and still feel like shit..
