Had parents over for tea and cakes in the garden this afternoon.

Bought a 2 pack of jam and cream doughnuts, a 2 pack of jam and cream horns and some sultana scones.

Dad went for a scone, mum asked for cheese and crackers ...wtf!!😮, dd had a doughnut and I had a cream horn which was delish...hadn't had one in literally years!!

Just eaten the other one and now feeling like a big fat pig....AIBU to have scoffed double pack of cream horns in one day?

Never. 😁 hope you enjoyed them!

SleeplessinScarbourough · 15/06/2023 21:01

I’d do it again tomorrow 😁

karakchai · 15/06/2023 21:05

🙄

ArcticBells · 15/06/2023 21:06

I'd have polished off the scones as well

BungalowBuyer · 15/06/2023 21:10

You can never have to much cream horn !

CanIbeRio · 15/06/2023 21:10

It seems I'm in good company with like minded people 🙂

Where did you get the cream horn from? I need one and YADNBU.

StopFeckingFaffing · 15/06/2023 21:15

Fresh cream cakes don't keep well so best to appreciate them while they're at their best 😋

DrFoxtrot · 15/06/2023 22:05

Agree with PP that you can never have too much cream horn! Imagine if you'd left it for the next day and it was rancid. Your actions were absolutely necessary.

WiddlinDiddlin · 15/06/2023 22:16

Nope.

Food waste is a TERRIBLE thing.

You've done this for the good of the planet, you should be proud of yourself.

They go all limp and soggy and the lovely crunchy bits of sugar go damp and 'orrible and the cream goes rancid, so you can't leave them once opened, it wouldn't be right.

Well done for recycling, not wasting, er, and ridding the world of some calories so I can't eat them #ihatediets

You are my kind of people 😉@ATaleofTwentyCities Morrisons!

Gosh you're a really bad person. I could only have a lick of the cream and sniff the pastry.
😁😁
In fact I'd be prepared to take a cream horn off anyone's hands to prevent them making a similar mistake

RubiesAndRaindrops · 15/06/2023 22:53

They don't keep well & besides it would have gotten lonely by itself, much better that it got eaten!

Hugasauras · 15/06/2023 23:07

That's not like you, Granda. Sure, you couldn't pay you to eat a cream horn!

Icannoteven · 15/06/2023 23:22

Oooh, where did you buy these? I haven’t had a decent cream horn in years. I got one at Asda a few months ago and was seriously pissed off at the lack of filling. Basically they had shoved a bit of jam and cream in the top to make it look full but the rest of the horn was empty 😭

ATaleofTwentyCities · 15/06/2023 23:23

Thank you! I'm off to Morrisons for a cream horn(Or 4) at the first opportunity.

You know what’s bad? I knew they were from Morrisons before you said so. I am intimately familiar with their fresh cake section 😳 They were the long eclair-shaped doughnuts weren't they? My faves!

CanIbeRio · 15/06/2023 23:56

@Orchidgal
Yup....there's one left....if would be inexcusable for me to eat that too, wouldn't it?? 🤔🐷

Oh -Morrisons bakery and cakes are brilliant- far superior than anywhere else! Enjoy and eat all the horns you can 😁
