I know this isn’t a massive deal but I’m just wondering if others would find it a bit much as well.
I have a colleague who mimics how I speak. Apparently I answer the phone with a specific ‘type’ of ‘hello’ (I probably do - probably my mums ‘telephone voice’!) but it isn’t like I’m shouting ‘oi, what!’ Just ‘hello?’
So this colleague has latched onto it and keeps cracking up with laughter and saying hello, hello, hello, every time she sees me and to be honest as a joke to say it is wearing thin is an understatement. I think I reached the limit of my patience today when I answered my own phone to someone and she started shouting hello and cackling to herself.
Thing is, I don’t know whether saying something will just turn it into more of a ‘joke’ than it apparently already is but I’m already at the stage where I actually don’t want to speak because of this stupid woman!
So AIBU to be fed up of it and how do I actually stop it? Telling her to pack it in will not work, it sounds obvious but it will make it worse.
