Is it the hot weather that is turning everyone into rude obnoxious idiots?

I work public facing, and we are getting some of the rudest and most unreasonable behaviour this week - far more than normal! Are everyones manners just disappearing because they are a little too warm? Its just ridiculous!

Sorry you're having to deal with that OP. I think hot weather,like being drunk, brings out people's true nature sometimes. Which isn't always pleasant. Coupled with difficulty sleeping, allergies and the never ending bad news lately. Hopefully the weather will become cooler soon if only to encourage the putting away of revolting old men's feet in sandals and the endless tits on parade

I do believe people have less patience in hot weather , the heat doesn't just affect mad dogs ..

I was helping to run a toddler group this morning - waaay more tears and tantrums than usual. Lots of hot, bothered toddlers who had slept badly and been up since the crack of dawn, and lots of hot, tired parents and carers.

Yes, sleep quality is poor, people are hot and bothered.
I know I for one have far less patience.

Yep, I experiencing the same thing op, especially on the road! I was at a junction waiting to turn left but traffic was going both ways so there was no time/space to join the flow and the car behind me was honking his horn and flipping me the bird 🙄

Quite possibly - I was very snippy with my husband and toddler this morning and I suspect the heat may have been to blame. Mood improved massively on arriving in the (air conditioned) office.

Yes! IMO,hot weather really does seem to bring out the worst in a hell of a lot of people. I live in a low rise flat above some shops,and I've definitely noticed in the last week far more people arguing and shouting outside, people in cars pulling up to go in the shops with stereos blasting out music at ear-splitting volume,and people in shops just generally being more aggressive and queue jumping etc. Yet another reason I hate hot weather!

More people these days (post covid) have little filter and can be quite rude.
The hot weather is making it more obvious because of the ones that are normally polite becoming a little more grouchy IYSWIM.
I'm lucky if I get 5hrs sleep - hot weather and being 51 don't mix well. <growls> I need an ice cold 🚿 every hour I think.

My shorts are below the knee (Denim bermuda) so hopefully won't blind too many unsuspecting shoppers.

Also customer facing and somewhere that people get to relax (or that's the intention anyway!) Either in the heat or out of it if they prefer. So many seem hell bent on an argument rather than relaxing and enjoying themselves.

I'm hot and bothered too, and running around in the heat, and no matter how much you shout, belittle or make sarcastic comments, I can't change the weather or make you have a better nights sleep, so be a grown up and deal with your own emotions instead of taking them out on people you know can't give you the gob full you deserve!

That's quite acceptable! 😂 I'm referring to all the bare-chested men strutting around the high street,and women wearing what basically amounts to a swimsuit walking around Tesco's!

Why very fat men think it is acceptable to wander about in nothing but a pair of tiny shorts is beyond me. Please, at least put a T shirt or vest on. I don't want to be confronted with your sunburned beer belly while I am waiting to go in to the dentist.
