I have been having tests, scan's etc for the last year, and have been passed around the GI department a lot. There have been many delays, at one point the Dr I was sent to forgot to refer me on and I was left about four months. I have now been told I have a GIST which needs to be removed. It is very near my pancreas which seems to be a problem. I've had a couple of biopsy's which were clear. On going to UCLH yesterday for an appointment with the surgeon, he said that it wasn't something he was able to deal with and thinks it needs dealing with by the Royal Free. He did say that cancer couldn't be ruled out until the tumor had been removed. I have contacted the coordinator at my local hospital today and she is trying to find out what happens next. She said that the latest CT showed a nodule that might need a further ultrasound scan. Am worried sick now. I'm at the end of my tether don't know what else I can do.

I have no medical knowledge, so can't offer any advice. I hope you get some answers / info soon. Waiting and uncertainty is really hard

Thanks I've had a call from a nurse from a different hospital which was quite reassuring. I have another medical condition which is relevant, and she says the outcome is usually positive. Just worried about having to have part of my pancreas removed.
