To want to ignore my birthday

It's my birthday on Saturday. I HATE my birthday. I hate the embarrassment of birthday cake and singing, opening cards and gifts. By contrast I go full out for husband and the kids, and my parents' birthdays. They're already badgering me about what I'd like to do and yet none are just accepting that what I want to do, is to do nothing!! I literally just want a normal Saturday shuttling the kids to their clubs and yet I'm being made to feel bad about it. Surely as it's my birthday I get to choose?! It's not a milestone just a regular mid30s non-event. Please tell me I'm not the only one.

You are being unreasonable, you should celebrate with full gusto for those of us whose birthdays are completely forgotten by our families! 🤣

Its your birthday. I've not yet managed to completely ignore mine yet, but live in hope.

Just say a card and a cake would be fine? You're lucky to have people desperate to celebrate with you.

I see your point @BirdChirp but I don't want to celebrate. It's not a milestone, it's just a regular Saturday imo. I don't like the expectation that everyone wants to celebrate. I plan things for my family, decorate with balloons etc and organise a cake because they want that. That's the difference.
