My DDs were similar, but behind the baby ones. The dentist called them shark teeth. Apparently it's pretty common. The baby teeth eventually fell out, the adult ones moved into place, all is well.

That happened to me! Eventually the milk tooth dropped out and the permanent tooth moved in to the space.

Yeah, both of my kids has two sets of bottom front teeth for a while 😁

So there's nothing to worry about? How long did it take for baby teeth to come out?

My daughter was 15 before hers finally came out. Do think that's unusual though Grin

In DD's case, it was about six months before both teeth came out.

Calmdown14 · 10/06/2023 14:55

My daughter has this too. The baby teeth have now come out and the others are moving forward nicely.

I think it's only an issue if they haven't come out after three months or more, and even then I think the dentist would just want to check them.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 10/06/2023 14:58

When this happened to DD she had to have the baby tooth removed by the dentist.

My DS has this. It isn't causing him problems but when we saw the dentist in April she wanted him back on 3 months if they haven't come out. Hoping they do come our in the next 4 weeks otherwise she is going to take them out to allow room for the big ones to get into the right position.

My daughter has this. Dentist isn't concerned at the moment. A few of her friends also have this - I think one of them has had them taken out.

christmastreefarm · 10/06/2023 15:07

It's been about 5/6 months since she first saw the dentist about them - and then had a checkup 2 months ago.

Haha DS2 had this just this week but bottom teeth. Creeped me right out!! Emailed the dentist and they said it’s common and since speaking to school mums etc lots of kids have had the same. One of the baby teeth has since fallen out and the other is starting to get wobbly.

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 10/06/2023 20:22

How old is he?

I had this, and they didn't move into place on their own as my teeth were very overcrowded. I had 4 adult teeth out and braces in the end.

But as others have said, a lot of times they'll move into place on their own.

My 14 year old ds still has a lot

Go to the dentist, they're the best to advise on if anything needs doing.
