I've had a letter through today - my 4m old baby has an appt with the paediatric nephrology service in September but I don’t know why. To my knowledge, she has never had her wee tested and we have never reported any issues with her kidneys to the GP or anyone else. We are expecting a referral about a possible birth injury to her arm, but I don’t see what that has to do with nephrology.
Am I being unreasonable to expect a phone call or at least some explanation to accompany such a worrying letter? Or do you think that the letter may just have an error in it and the referral is actually for her arm?
I will definitely call the hospital in the morning but I'm in for a sleepless night unless anyone here has any ideas?
