To ask neighbour to stop feeding the foxes!

Sarfar45 · 07/06/2023 09:23

My neighbour feeds the foxes and every year they come back to have cubs. Her garden is very overgrown and I'm pretty sure they sleep in her fallen down shed.
It's every year at around this time. The problem is it drives our dog mad as he can smell and hear them. He's been very unsettled at bed time all week.
Thinking of asking her to stop feeding them. Would I be unreasonable to ask her that.

You could do some desensitisation training with your dog to stop him reacting to the foxes. If they’re actually living in her garden it will be hard for her to get rid of them

Maybe she likes foxes as much as you like your dog?

AllGussiedUp · 07/06/2023 09:27

You can ask. But if someone asked me, I wouldn’t stop. We have dogs too.

You could ask OP but I dont think you will get anywhere. We have one set of neighbours who feed pidgeons and I swear its like living in an alfred hitchcock film and 2 doors down they like feeding rats. Oh yes rats as they like to watch them play, Me I like to call and shell out hundreds in rentokil fees so I can try to enjoy my garden and they think I am unreasonable.!!!

I wish I lived in USA so we had raccoons instead of foxes.

I mean, foxes are cute but raccoons are amazing. Their cunning wee hands…

Pixiedust1234 · 07/06/2023 09:33

We have foxes. We also have many neighbours with dogs. None of the dogs bark.

Its you, not her. Train your dog.

Thebigblueballoon · 07/06/2023 09:35

Don’t bother. She’s only going to say no, and all you’ll have achieved is a possible strained relationship with her.

MinionsHooray · 07/06/2023 09:37

Yabu. She’s allowed to do what she likes in her garden.

Train your dog.
