…if you wish to send financial aid to Haiti after the recent flood-followed-by-earthquake?
Yes, they still have a presence there despite the sexual exploitation scandal after the 2010 earthquake (which, of course, included CSA).
TBH, most big NGOs on the island aren’t stellar - the US Red Cross perhaps being the most notorious for overpromising/underdelivering.
In fairness, MSF provide a LOT of support to the Haitian healthcare system; but their rules around safety have forced them to suspend operations multiple times just this year.
What do I suggest? FOKAL, which is run by Haitians for Haitians - but relies largely on money from overseas (much of which comes from the diaspora) to do their work. There are some other fab Haitian charities (eg CREPHA who make ortheses, prostheses, braces & splints - they rely on donations as their clients can rarely afford to make any contribution to the cost) but FOKAL is the one focused on relief-type projects; so the best one for this situation.
