Turned up at beautician - therapist not in

Booked a hydrafacial appointment 3pm today. Booked online. Received two emails and a text confirming it. Cancelled stuff to go, too. Paid £12 deposit total cost £120. Arrived to find therapist not in. The one therapist who was there was extremely apologetic but it wasn't her fault and she was keeping other clients waiting whilst she tried to sort it all out.

My guess is that the therapist or whoever manages the online booking system hadn't updated it so it showed as available even when it wasn't. I'm really pissed off. It's not as if I was spending 50p. I'm so busy it's hard to find time so I'm doubly cross.

I've been to the park and the museum and sat reading in the park instead but I could have done with the time to do some work at home.

Would you go back there?

Did they manage to contact the beautician? Maybe she hires the room like hairdressers hire a chair- and she clearly cocked up or didn't check her bookings? If you received 2 emails and text-then surely that is generated from the booking system- so sounds like human error to me.

I would expect the beautician or manager to call you on Monday to apologies. If its a one off and you generally like their work, I'd go back, but ask whether could throw in say an extra cream/treatment on the day.

IF there is no call, no attempt to apologies, and you haven't been that happy anyways, I'd leave it a few days then ring and ask for your money back.

This makes no sense. You book a beauty therapy appointment yourself at a time to fit in with you for your own convenience - prescisely so you don't have to 'cancel stuff'. Why would you cancel stuff to then book an apppointment?

You are doing it the wrong way round!
