Asthma meds as a cause of late puberty

My 15 year old DS has late puberty & we are under the care of an endocrinologist. The consultant insists that his growth delay isn’t related to asthma meds as ‘they inhale such a small amount’.

I actually really think it’s contributing- he’s been on seretide 125 for a few years now & has had asthma since he was little (it’s not formally diagnosed until age 5 but he had bronchiololitis & was in and out of hospital as a baby/ toddler)

Hes so fed up of not growing - they don’t want to give testosterone yet as he’s got some signs of puberty but at 15 he could pass for a 12 year old.

Anyone got any experience of asthma meds & delayed growth. The research seems to suggest that it doesn’t affect long term adult height- just that growth can be severely delayed.

For my DS, the inhaled steroids do keep the asthma under control but I worry he’s not had a break from them for years

Anyone got any thoughts? Aibu to worry about the connection
