Advice on areas to live in Surrey - Camberley, Lightwater

My husband and I are planning to move to Surrey and are looking at Lightwater, Windlesham, Camberley and the villages to the west of Woking sort of area. Both of us drive to commute and think these areas are central to where we both need to go.
im also pregnant with our first baby so ideally looking for somewhere with good access to mum and baby groups etc and good primary schools.
Please can anyone shed any light on what the above areas are like as we don’t know the area terribly well.
our house budget is £900 and looking for somewhere detached with 4 beds. Seems like we can get more for our money in Camberley - is that because it is a bit less nice or purely transport related?

Won’t get much except maybe a kennel for £900. £900,000 won’t get you much in Lightwater either!

Are you planning on renting or buying? Can you confirm how much your house budget because £900 per week will maybe rent you somewhere nice to meet your specifications.

Sorry - meant £900k budget to buy

Bagshot?

Yes would also consider bagshot - not sure why I left that one out!
do you have a feel for what these areas are like? Really don’t want to move somewhere and find out we’ve made the wrong decision and should have gone for one village away…

I know people who have lived happily in Camberly for years. Not spent much time there myself so can’t really comment but it seems to go down well with the people I know.

That’s good to know, thanks!

For £900k I'd have a sniff at Crowthorne or Sandhurst over Camberley any day of the week. The new builds at Buckley park look nice, but if you don't mind an older house the space/land you get on places like heathermount are so nice.

Not that far over but significantly nicer villagey feel, better schools and you'd get a 4/5 bed detached easily.

Look a bit further over and you can get a 5 bed detached for £600-800k, at Jennetts Park or Warfield areas, both have top quality schools and good community vibe, although Ofsted doesn't really reflect that. Nicely placed for M3/M4 too if you're commuting by road.

Don't know much about windlesham except it's chuffing lovely to drive through. Bagshot has never done it for me, it's ugly and too roady.

Thanks so much, this is super helpful!

I live in Frimley Green, some beautiful houses here.

Bagshot is lovely, nice community in general. One side of A30 has access to Swinley Forest (great for cycling or walking) and other side to Lightwater Country Park.
Decent schools all around the areas you're looking at.
