Hello! I've been working as a (part time) freelance proofreader for about 10 years, mostly proofreading translations. I really like the flexibility and the fact I can work around the DC. But there seems to be a bit less work available lately and with everything getting more expensive, I could do with picking up more work!
Does anyone have any experience or ideas for where I could get some more similar work? I've tried sending my CV out to translation agencies in many places but very rarely get a reply.
I've been through the £10 a day threads but working for Lionbridge and other similar suggestions there seems to be difficult to actually get into, or there's a problem getting paid afterwards!
Should I just keep trying different language agencies? Do any publishing houses outsource proofreading?
