To tell you I've just thrown the toaster away ?

Been in the cupboard for 4 years unused. Just thrown it in the local electrical recycle. It's not used & the cupboard space can be used in a better way (its a large 4 toaster ).

... and I've not told DH as he likes to hang on to unused clutter.

Feels good to finally chuck it !

Yes you're unreasonable not to freecycle it or find someone who would appreciate a lovely working toaster.

I love decluttering! Next time maybe use a service like Olio where people who need something can have it? I know free sites can be painful, but Olio I’ve had very little issues and I just leave outside for most part so not even met most of the people who took stuff.

We use our toaster way too much!

But how are you going to make toast?

Lost987 · 29/05/2023 12:53

Tbf, the toaster is quite battered-looking so not sure anyone else would want it

We use the Grill for toast. There is no space for the toaster to be permanently out. So its a faff to get it out the cupboard each time when the grill is just on- hand

Well done, I love chucking things out, it's so freeing!

It's much nicer to eat grilled toast, the toaster means no babysitting though.

We were thinking about getting an air fryer, apparently you can do toast in it, so I was also wondering if our toaster will have had its day at that point. 😂 No idea how long it takes or if it'll be any good from an air fryer though, so we'll need to test it first!
I do like getting rid of clutter though, we'll likely give ours away for free or recycle if that doesn't work (it's used but not in bad condition, really).

This makes me feel sad. Poor toaster

MoonlightLily · 29/05/2023 14:54

My toaster broke a while back and haven't got round to getting a new one we've really missed not having one i tried doing it in the air fryer but it isn't nice that way

Treesoutsidemywindow · 29/05/2023 14:55

Interesting that people have said offer it on Freecycle for someone who might need it. I had a spare one taking up space in the cupboard, so decided to Freecycle it. It's still sitting waiting for someone to show an interest nearly 6 weeks later!! I'm afraid that mine will be joining the OP's very soon, as I'm sick of seeing it sitting out.

Maybe you need thick sliced bread for airfryer toast, it's too dry for me.

How long will it take DH to notice?
