To bother challenging a Parking Charge Notice.

DH took DS to training at a local sports club we hadn't been to before. He watched for a bit and then left after 45 minutes and on the way back to the car noticed signs saying you needed to pay for parking - £2/day - he pays and leave.

A week later we get a letter through for a Parking Charge Notice for £100!! Appealed and sent in the receipt showing he paid 2 minutes before leaving but apparently as he has to pay within 20 minutes of arriving the appeal was rejected.

If we pay now the fine is reduced. Is it worth doing anything? I know he broke the rules but as it was a daily charge (which he paid!) it seems a bit excessive.

Shall we just suck it up and pay?

I’d suck it up and pay. If you read the T’s and C’s you’ll find they have you by the short and curlies.

Is it a PCN or private company? Did u have to put your number plate in?

I'm sure something similar was on Rip Off Britain on BBC1 last week. You have ten minutes grace to find a space before paying, so 45 minutes is well over the grace period. Sorry OP.
