To make daughter carry on with Kumon maths at high school

Has anyone got high school kids who do maths at Kumon?

Does it still help?

DD is 11 and it has massively helped her at primary but she's desperate to stop going now she's done her sats and I'm unsure what to do.

Hi OP.
I'm not sure about your question..but do you mind me asking how it was helpful for her in primary? I've read mixed reviews on Kumon. My DC currently goes to Explore learning once/week (purely because he attends a high achieving state school where everyone is doing some sort of extra tuition!) but I often feel it's a waste of money paying teenagers to do what I could do for him at home...for free!!! Would appreciate your opinion on benefits of Kumon....

kumon it utterly tedious- my kids did it for a couple of years and they hated it. I wouldn’t force it- can you not find an independent maths tutor or a less rigid system if you want her to carry on with maths tutoring?

That's what I'm thinking, ride it out till they break up for summer then find a maths tutor if she struggles in year 7

It has helped her confidence massively in primary, she used to be terrified of numbers and was so defeatist and thought she couldn't do anything but Kumon made her have a go which has brought her work at school up to standard, it is a pain tho they have to do homework every night which you have to mark then they correct it
