To tire of friends busy comments?

Any time I see my friend she insists on telling me how she’s been busy every single Friday, Saturday and Sunday since the dawn of time with social engagements. She literally been saying that to me for over a year now.

It feels like a competition, despite me not saying how busy I am.

Did you ever ask them if they like being so busy? "Yes .... Etc etc" .... That's great that you enjoy that. I can't stand being busy personally and much prefer ..., It's funny how we are all so different, isn't it?

They might then realise there is zero point in trying to make you feel a certain way towards their busyness as you aren't inclined to be that way at all!

I once got sick of a friend who seemed to turn everything I said into a competition. I actually wrote them an email about it as I don't do confrontation. They claimed to not have realised. The friendship was never the same after that and we've just drifted apart. Can't say I miss them tbh.
