What with climate crisis, the world's definite bent to the far right, the massive amount of social inequality everywhere and now the real danger of AI...

I am not generally such a pessimist but I really feel it today. I feel scared for the kids.

Actually no.

Climate crisis is worrying, but I don't think it will be catostrophic for our kids.

I actually think in many ways it is easier now than it was 50 years ago, espeically if you are not a white mmiddle class male - there is more social mobility, there is more D&I, there is more understanding of MH.

I agree. It's partly why we see such devastating population decline in the west. Hopefully humans will be totally extinct in about 500 years - then the world really will be a better place.

No op, I do not agree, i think in terms of the history of humanity, this is a pretty amazing time to be alive, I'd take living now, over the middle ages any day

Actually AI might be their saving Grace. They won’t have to work at bullshit jobs in an office 9-5 when AI can do it for free. There might finally be a universal salary and people will be able to be freer from the drudgery that we have now.

We’re getting to the stage where millennials and gen z are going to be the ones in positions of power. They’re different people to Gen X’s and those that came before. Climate change is worrying but humans have adapted for millennia. I have to have hope in the future, we can’t control most of it so no point worrying.
