Posting this here as previous thread got very little response.

Looking to go away in September with my other half and our two kids 3 and 14, I have had a look online but am overwhelmed and can't decide. I'd love some recommendations for a four or five star hotel or resort type place with things for the kids to do without it being too crowded and crazy, somewhere near or beside a nice beach ideally with some nice cultural sights to visit too. We love forte village in sardina but can't justify 14 thousand for two weeks. So something similar please but not quiet so expensive.

So apart from not £14,000, what is your budget for this holiday?

summerfinn · 19/05/2023 21:44

Up to six thousand euro flights included. First time going away as a family of four and I'm shocked at the prices . Ideally two weeks. Is 14 thousand not a lot for two weeks. We do want somewhere nice .

Well I'd recommend the melia atlantico in isla canela on the Costa de la luz.

The entertainment staff were so proactive and friendly especially with kids. The guests seemed to be mainly Spanish and French. The food was very good. Its got several pools but is also right on the beach.

I just found it so tranquil even though there was plenty going on.

That sounds lovely. I do like a quieter type of holiday even though I have kids. Did you find the journey from the airport to the hotel a bit of a trek?
