How to dress with big calves? Feeling low

Hi

I have a pear-shaped body. My calves are very large and stick out at the back.
I eat well and exercise, but my legs have always been thick and big. My thighs rub together, and my calves make me self-conscious about clothing.
I feel very self-conscious in these, as my calves are massive and stick out a lot at the back. I usually wear jogging bottoms, but I feel underdressed. I hate wearing skirts or dresses to weddings or special occasions.

I have tried wearing bootcut jeans or flares, but people tell me they are out of fashion. But the thing is, they can't see that I am hiding my large calves, and that is the reason I am wearing them. Once, I wore a nice knee-length dress to a wedding, but a family member made a rude comment about my legs in front of everyone. I was so hurt.

Does anyone have any advice?

I hate feeling like this. I wish I had slimmer legs. It’s not a weight issue; it’s just how my legs are. It’s keeping me from going out and enjoying life.

Firstly- ignore people who make rude comments about your appearance to your face. They are rude and unkind and their opinion doesn't matter.

Secondly- I have large calves, and find that the length of a dress can really emphasise how they look. Mini and midi skirts work best- knee length cuts me off right at the top of where they start to get bigger, and draw the eye there.

Have you tried mom style jeans? They are more fashionable, but not tight. Although I wouldn't be bothered about whether something is in style if you feel good wearing them- again, ignore those rude people!

Wide legged trousers and a fitted top?

Go somewhere where you can try a load of different styles on..
Straight legs/mom jeans might work. I quite like linen wide legs for summer. The peg style trousers don't work for me at all. Although soft tapered trousers, harem style are so comfortable I don't actually care if they're fashionable or not! I've just bought some very soft stretchy denim trousers that are wide and slightly cropped.

Wide leg trousers or jeans. Fashionable and hide legs well. And if you get high waisted ones, on a pear shape, they can make your waist look amazing.

How about something like these from M&S

They're moderately loose through the leg

I've a similar issue op but I rock on with my skinny jeans as I feel I look more balanced. When I wear other styles my upper legs end up looking bulkier I find. But style if top also makes a difference. Plain on bottom, colourful/print up top. But screw what people say is in style wear which you feel comfortable in and looks nice. Maybe have a day in a shop you like that has a few options if style and try some out if your usual style as you might be surprised.
Agree with the other post about dress length being very imp, knee length will not be your friend. I opt for naci or midi (midi us perfect for every day with sandals boots or trainers). Or short dresses are good but I'm not comfortable in them day to day
Most if all do not dwell on it, who cares what done cheeky sod said and if someone says something nicely point out something about them that they wouldn't want people mentioning

Bootcut and flares are definitely in - skinny jeans are out. Or so my 18 year old sister tells me, she wouldn't be caught dead in a pair of skinny jeans.

Same! I have large calves (and big thighs) I always have even when I was a size 10 I could never find boots that fit me even wide fit ones!

Midi skirts are the way to go - definitely nothing above or knee length (for me anyway) as they cut off at the biggest part for me. I also find cargo trousers, culottes and straight leg jeans work best trousers wise.
