Anyone else hold at ransom at home by Evri?

I have been waiting for a parcel since Thursday, and every day, Sakib the one delivering Wouk be with us between 11:30 and 12:30.

About 2ish each day, I get a message saying that Sakib had to reschedule the delivery and that it will come between 4:30 and 5:30. A couple of hours later I get another message saying the new ETA is 7:30 to 9pm. Finally at 11, I get another one saying that Sakib will deliver it tomorrow… and we start again the next t day.

I tried redirecting it to lockers but Sakib said they were full and would try again tomorrow, I redirected it to our neighbours and then back to us after he rescheduled again. But he apparently took it to the lockers again in Saturday, despite the redirection, as he took a photo of my parcel sitting inside his van go figure where.

I am getting cabin fever and as usual there’s no information whatsoever in the EVRI website on how to complain.

It has been 6 long full days of this shit. Anyone happy to share their EVRI nightmares to cheer me up?

Do you have to wait in? Ours just leave it on the doorstep. Do you have that setup?

Evri seem to say they have delivered to us and then actually do it the next day..

I have had about three parcels go missing over time but given the vast quantity of stuff we order it’s not too bad.

HereAndNowAgain · 16/05/2023 17:42

Was it from a shop? Have you contacted the retailer?

ForTheSakeOfThePenguin · 16/05/2023 17:48

Yes, the shop took 2 weeks to hand to Evri, has been with Evri for more than a week.

And, as I finished writing the post my dog alerted me that Sakib has just left the parcel outside!

I never believe a word Herpes or Evri say or write. They have let me down so many times that I no longer use Marks and Spencer, John Lewis or TK Maxx for online shopping.

ForTheSakeOfThePenguin · 16/05/2023 17:51

I live in a busy road, no driveway, not exactly suitable for leaving parcels outside.

Abysmal delivery service is driving me back to the shops. Long gone are the times when it was so convenient ordering stuff online. At least in my area, they never show up on time these days!

I have a safe space setup, you can set this up on their page as I’m never home when a delivery comes

I did, twice.

My Evri parcel was delivered today by David in the correct time period. I've never had an issue with them so it must depend on the area and/or the courier

dementedpixie · 16/05/2023 18:06

Oops sorry, just realised you wanted nightmares not successful deliveries Grin

itsrainin · 16/05/2023 18:07

Honestly I think Evri are okay in my area. It’s royal mail that have been more unreliable recently.

Newgolddream70 · 16/05/2023 18:14

Our Evri delivery driver is fab but you do have to be in - even if you add a safe place instruction, they still wait until you're actually in.

In comparison, Yodel don't give a flying Father Christmas - it's left on the doorstep; they don't even ring the door bell.

MrsAvocet · 16/05/2023 18:18

Up until this week I would have said that I had never experienced any issues with Hermes/Evri but I am now waiting for a parcel that I paid a bloody fortune for next day delivery for Friday but now seems yo have disappeared into the ether. It kind of doesn't matter now, as I needed it on Friday and one day late or 2 weeks late makes no odds now really, but I'd like to know where it is! And yes, they do make it difficukt for you to make contact dont they?

hettiethehare · 16/05/2023 18:38

Evri have a new one for us - the last couple of months DH or I would get the delivery text to say that our package would delivered between 19:30 and 21:30 that day.

Only for it to arrive in the next 5 minutes - about 5 hours early. It's happened a few times now.

Bluevelvetsofa · 16/05/2023 18:46

The trouble is, there are no actual shops in towns any more.

I usually get stuff from M&S, John Lewis etc, delivered to a store. There’s an M&S Food nearby and the nearest Waitrose is not far away.

They’re all problematic now though.

This
generally Evri are very good round my way.

I don't have a safe place for stuff, I wish more companies would give an alternative - looking at QVC!

Trouble with a safe space is if they deliver to it, and it's not as safe as you thought, and it gets nicked, that's your problem. They've done their job delivering it to where you told them.

We are actually very friendly with our local evri and he is fab. We have more problems with dpd!!!

Bluebellbike · 16/05/2023 19:33

I have just had a text from Evri saying my delivery was made at 16:30 through my letterbox. I know it won't fit through my letterbox. I am intrigued as to what he has done with it. Will find out when I get home. Last time this happened the parcel had been left leaning on a neighbour's porch, fallen onto the drive and neighbour almost drove over it returning home in the dark. The message I got on delivery was it was in my "enclosed porch". He couldn't leave it inside my neighbour's as it was locked.
