Health visitor at 8 months?!

Just had a letter to say that the HV will be phoning to make an appointment for a Zoom call which might lead to a visit if there are any problems ... with my 8 month old, and that they'd like to discuss his 'strengths' in particular.

Well, his algebra is good, but his handwriting could be improved.

FFS.

He's my fourth child. This may be the first ever HV appointment I decline.

Please don't shoot the messenger. Since local authorities have taken on health visiting under the public health role, its all become very target driven and health and development reviews are all part of this.
The wording is to encourage people not to see it as "checking up".
If you are happy with babies development and have no other worries then yes do decline.

Poor hvs, they are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

It's normal, is it not?

A health visitor's remit is from once the midwife involvement is over till school starts.

You seem unnecessarily combative.

If anything there could do with being more involvement for HVs in the early years. Too many fall through the net.
