To wish that hotels would have more non smoking areas.

Currently on holiday and just can't seem to escape the smokers. Sitting on the balcony and guests either side light up so we have to sit in their fog + plus the room then smells if we try to leave the door open. We cannot sit outside for drinks or meals as no matter where we decide to sit, it is only a matter of time before smokers will occupy the nearby tables and instantly light up. Same around the pool. We keep moving seats/loungers but always the same issue.
I know they have as much right to enjoy their holiday as we do. I don't feel that my holiday is more important than their's but I really wish that even just a few places could be sectioned off for non smokers.
Even in the restaurants, they stand in the doorway to smoke so you still have to run the fog tunnel to get in and out.

YANBU smoke is gross. Sadly I think the only option is waiting for smokers to die out staying in a villa or something instead, and avoiding the smokier countries.

This has been our first trip abroad since before COVID and we'd forgotten how bad it can be. 😢 We have been looking forward to this for so long and it is frustrating. Can't even escape it on the beach!

We were in Ibiza last summer, smoking banned and enforced on beaches and it was banned by our pool too. there were some smoking areas but they were out the front of the hotel.

Something to look into. Thanks. There are no non smoking areas at all in the hotel we are staying in apart from obviously in the restaurant, bedrooms and indoor bar. Anywhere outside is free for all. I get that people smoke but even just a small section for non smokers would be great. The smokers can have all the rest!
