Wrap around childcare cost in London- what’s too much?

Just wondering how much people are paying for wrap around childcare around London?

I’m currently in zone 4. Been struggling to find someone that can do pick up and drop off at nursery and wrap around care. The one person I have found is asking for £15 per hour for 3 hours. 30mins before nursery and 2.5 hour after nursery. Does this seem a lot?

Childcare.co.uk gives average costs in your area if you put your postcode in.

This is the hardest type of childcare to find so that’s amazing you actually found someone. I’ve paid a student £15 an hour to “babysit” my primary age kids. Do you have to pay travel time for the 30 mins?

If it’s the only option you’ve found surely you don’t have much choice?

Im London zone 3

I'm staring to look at after school nannies now and that's about the same price we're being quoted (also London). I guess it's probably slightly higher per hour than standard rates because it's more inconvenient in terms of second jobs etc

That seems reasonable to me. Until DC’s school started to offer discounted wraparound care, I was paying £30/hr outside of London.

Thanks, will have a look.

Haven’t got all the details yet but told £15 per hour.

Did not realise finding childcare would be this stressful 🙈
