To refuse to buy second hand shoes?

Light hearted argument with MIL. I get pretty bad foot pain (plantar fasciitis ) i spent £130 on trainers I got 2 pairs so £260 she said I can't believe you spent that much you should have gone on vinted and got them second hand. I do buy a lot on vinted but I balk at buying second hand shoes especially with foot pain. Don't shoes mould to the owners feet?

Depends on the condition. I used to feel like you but bought a couple of pairs in excellent condition from revivo, you can’t even tell they had ever been worn.

Nope, second hand shoes are gross. Someone else's hot sweaty feet have been in them, even if they wore socks its still eurgh.

That's without the way they may have worn.

Yuck. Yanbu.

Unless they’re like new and in the box shoes are one of the few things I refuse to buy secondhand (along with underwear and certain baby items etc). Feet are nasty and sweaty and gross. My own I can deal with but putting my feet into other people bacterial soup? I’m going to pass.

Also they’re moulded to someone else’s shape. So they wouldn’t even fit right.
