Asking for recommendations for period swimwear for 10 year old please

Can anyone recommend any tips of brands of period swim wear for my dd10 please? Or any tips or tricks?
She loves swimming but if suffering from very heavy periods and does not want to go while shes got it. But her periods are lasting for 7-8 days and are short cycles so would be better to have something in place to allow her to go swimming with her period.
Does the period swim wear work for a very heavy period? Can anyone recommend any particular brand?

Would she consider mooncups or heavy flow tampons? I had very heavy periods and long ones too, honestly no form of period swimwear worked for me.

Modibodi do swimwear. I've not tried it as I use tampons if I want to swim (completely understand why a child so young wouldn't be using them yet though!!!) I have about 6 pairs of modibodi period pants and they hold every the heaviest of overnights for me

She's only 10 so she's not keen on anything going inside.
I just feel like it's such a shame she has to miss out on her favorite thing due to her period.
I'll have a look at the modibodi range thank you

My dd used moobi body. I think they dona teen range. She is a bit older but will not use tampon/ moon cup. Her choice . They maybe don't work for long on very heavy days.but do for moderate flow.

My DD is 9 and she's got a modibodi swimsuit . Luckily she's not been on when swimming yet but she has used the modibodi period pants and they've been great . I'm also nervous about it because she's also suffering heavy periods . She loves swimming too.

My DDs both have modibody bikini bottoms (they are too tall for the swim suits) and they work really really well

Thank you for this post 👏

I’ve not used them personally, but WUKA also do period swimwear. Their period underwear is brilliant.

Primark also have a period swim wear range, DD1 has light periods, Igor her bikini bottoms last summer. Then DD2’s periods started on holiday (after I left them with their auntie!) and DD1 passed them on. I can’t say how they are with flow as DD1 has light flow, and DD2 did not share her thoughts, but we are looking for a pair the next size up to fit DD2 better

Thank you, I hate that she's missing out on her favourite things because of her period, the heavy part is the most of the issue I think. A light flow would probably stay in when in water but I've seen how heavy hers is and it's heavier than mine who is an endo sufferer to give you an idea!!
I'm having a look at these suggestions and I'm going to update this thread once tried and tested for anyone following

Just placemarking as DD also struggles with heavy periods (far worse than mine) but she loves swimming.

Divorcedalongtime · 01/05/2023 21:50

Modfibodi are great

Divorcedalongtime · 01/05/2023 21:50

Modibodi obviuosly

Gahhhhhhhhh · 11/08/2023 15:03

Just resurrecting this to see how you’ve got on as my DD has just started her periods and is a little fish who loves swimming.

BringOnSummerHolidays · 11/08/2023 15:07

DC12 uses modibodi but I don’t know if she has heavy periods. It has not leaked for her. But she is really heavy, the website says it’s for light to medium flow. I suspect you will need a tampon.

My DD is a competitive swimmer. She likes her Modibodi swimsuits and they’ve been very reliable. Funkita have a range launching but haven’t seen them in person yet. They will be releasing a period and non period suit of the same design.
