To ask about your divorce settlement if you went to court?

Just asking out of interest. I’m waiting for the FDR and keep hearing that the courts favours the men, it’s all terribly unfair etc. I’m divorcing a covert narcissist who is lying about everything. I don’t think he has a leg to stand on with regards to getting any more money than I am offering him but I’m a litigant in person and not sure how worried I should be.

What was your experience, if you did have to go via the courts re finances? Did you settle at FDR or before/after? Was the settlement roughly what you had expected/offered? Was it fair?

Is there anything you’d have done differently? Any tips?

I sympathise as 3 years into trying to get financial settlement and divorced from a narcassist. Iv spent nearly 50k and have had 3 first hearings and have fdr booked jan 2024. He adjourned hearings and constantly is awkward and delays proceedings to increase my costs in the hope he can wear me down and drain me financially into submission. Its so hard but im determined to not let him win and have a fantastic legal team. The stress however is unreal

I’m so sorry to hear it. We have a final hearing some time in spring. The system is so bad.
