When do you start to feel tired throughout the day?

I have 3 young kids 6 4 &1 and I find by 3 o’clock I’m absolutely knackered and could have a nap on the sofa. Then I still have to keep going until 8 then back up and doing it over again the next day. I’m going back to work full time soon and I’m just scared that I won’t be able to manage. Baby DS is just on the go all day and has stopped napping.

DH has been great recently and definitely took the stress off me but I’m just exhausted.

I’m not lacking iron so I’m guessing it’s just down to my life.

Haha around 7.30am. Kids around the same age. You get used to it (unfortunately). Our youngest is 2 and I am just starting to see that we are not in the midst of so much physically demanding work.

Ours are a bit older now and I'd say I'm feeling it by 5pm.

At the ages yours are now around 3 like you.

So there is hope your energy levels will gradually rise!

Justme10 · 30/04/2023 18:06

Oh I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who is ready for a nap by 3!

I have a 4 and a 2 year old and only work part time while doing my degree and I'm just exhausted!

I'm more tired now than I was during the newborn days Confused

I find I have to really psyche myself up about 4pm when I'm just about to start cooking tea for DD and I have the evening routine ahead of me. What helps is I drink a pint of cold water and step outside just for a few breaths of fresh air, then I get my sleeves up and get going

You could be lacking B vitamins or have pernicious anaemia. Go see your GP… I did and am now on folic acid supplements which help so much!

I have a 4 yr old, 3 yr old and 8 month old. I always feel like a nap at 2/3. Had my blood checked at the drs but not deficient in anything. Just lifestyle I guess

mrsdrablowsbittersister · 30/04/2023 18:26

Literally from the moment I wake up until about 30 mins before I need to sleep

Climbingthelaundrymountain · 30/04/2023 18:30

My kids are now 15, 13 and 9. I start to feel tired around 5pm, when they were younger it was about 3.

Hedonism · 30/04/2023 18:32

The three o'clock dip.

Do you have lots of carbs for your lunch? That usually does me in.

Saltandpepperchipss · 30/04/2023 18:43

@mrsdrablowsbittersister 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’m always questioning if it’s just me! But glad to know it isn’t. I just find everything exhausting.

Oh what id do to have the newborn stage back 😩

2.15pm for me! That is usually when my 5 year old is at nursery, and my 1 year old should be getting up from his nap at 2.30pm. I have had lunch, and been sat for 30 mins watching my show or something and my eyes start to close!!! I have to get up or I'll sleep in for the nursery run!

I work part time and I never feel that way at work because I'm busy. It's only if I get too comfy and full! Definitely a carb thing for me too, I am a carb monster!!!

SchoolShenanigans · 30/04/2023 20:11

I have 3 young kids and I'm the same. 2-3pm definitely marks the start of the end for me. It's notable.

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 30/04/2023 20:12

I wake up tired. It’s a permanent state of affairs.
