To use the communal garden area to dry my laundry?

Hello

Just wondering if I can get some opinions.

I live in a block of four flats, there is a spinning clothes line around the back which my neighbour is using and I'm waiting on a delivery of a new one to replace another one there which is broken.

I've been drying stuff inside but being a 1 bedroom flat, it's a nightmare for space.

It's really sunny here today, I was going to put my foldable clothes airer on the grass around the side (there are tall hedges so can't see from the road etc) and my DH is mortified and said we can't do that 🤔

It's 2 bedsheets and 2 duvet covers and some towels, no underwear on display etc.

He said if our neighbours downstairs look out of their bedroom they'll be able to see our laundry. We get on with all of our neighbours but they are out so I can't knock as ask if they mind for a few hours.

Am I being silly here or is DH being unreasonable? I'm 36 weeks pregnant and feel like I've got either major baby brain or there is a drying your laundry etiquette I've missed???

It'll be dry in two hours today. Just do it OP!

Yes just do it!

@Vitriolinsanity I just bumped into my other neighbour downstairs and asked him what he thought, he said I'd be mad to not do it on a day like today if I've got sheets and towels to dry especially so I'm afraid DH is going to have to be mortified at the sight of our non offensive white bedsheets drying 😂

But people will see your laundry if it was on the rotary line you are waiting for!

Weight the airer down with something if you can, in case it blows over, but definately make use of the outside space.

If it's a communal garden, and someone else regularly dries clothes out there, then it's fine I wouldn't be hanging up my knickers outside someone's window, but sheets etc, for sure!
