To ask you to choose my haircut?!

So, I'm early 40s, straight mid brown hair with greys, currently in a boring growing out Bob phase. I don't suit and don't like short hair but my hair is thinning. Help! What do others ask for? I'm low maintenance (i.e can't style hair, don't dye it) but feel like my hair is a bit hang dog at the mo and have a hat cut booked next week. Don't know what to ask for. Looking at Pinterest but it's all highly styled, coloured hair pics. I want normal hair on normal women!

I think a grown out bob length actually really suits us 40ish brunettes! If you don’t like it I would consider changing the cut style itself eg make sure it hangs nicely at the front and has a little swish. A good hairdresser will know how to achieve this but take some photos to show just in case (Pinterest).

also maybe pop in a bit of a highlight or balayage to blend the greys in. Balayage is nice and cheap as a colour choice because you get it topped up when you’re feeling flush but there’s no ‘roots’ to cover so no real urgency to keep up with it!
