Was DH U to get DS (9) (10 next week) Fortnite for Xbox ?

6 months ago DS told me he didn't was Fortnite monopoly game as it was violent.. he looked horrified at me.

Now he's persuaded DH to get it 'because his best friend plays it'.

It's age 12 upwards, and just seems to have a man jumping everywhere with lots of guns.

For info DS has about 10 nerf guns, but only puts the 'bullets' in when he is target practising.

He is the quietest, gentlest kid you could imagine. I'm worried he'll get bratty or turn into a serial killer

He’s prime age for it. That’s when they all play it. Didn’t turn my nice boys into murderous shooting addicts - they’re still fine, and enjoyed a lot of the silly costume choosing and fun stuff. Keep an eye on it in case it gets too addictive but if you have good screen time limits etc should be ok. Be aware that once they’re in a game, if they’re playing with friends, it’s stressful for them to leave halfway as they are letting friends down / missing the end etc, so best to organise it by “don’t start another game after x o clock” rather than “turn it off on the dot at 6pm”.

We got it for our son who is 8. I had a go and didn't see anything that bothered me so let him play. We now play as a family on various devices

It's super addictive for some kids. I was supposed to find most of my youngest sons yr4 class were playing it last year. I let mine try it and lasted about 3 months, they got so aggressive and stroppy
