And is in complete denial about reality in the UK today?

Where I am all the schools are closed due to strikes. Our Civil Service is striking. The NHS waiting lists are years long and we are looking at a 10% budget cut, which with inflation running at 10% makes it more like 20%.

WTF is he smoking because he's certainly not experiencing reality?

He is doing his best with so many issues. His family were hard working immigrants and he has achieved wealth through his own hard work and married a woman whose father set up his own business and became wealthy. Why the criticism, Boris was always being criticised for being broke and getting chums to fund his lifestyle. The NHS is a badly run long term disaster it will take years to improve. The useless politically civil service are also useless and full of woke bullies

Maybe his best isn't good enough then ?

In fact now you say that, I am wondering what he has done ? Best or not. Except not be Liz Truss. But that's not really an achievement so much as a statement.

Sadly todayinahurry is not alone in thinking like this.

Thinking that we should judge a PM on his background and if he is trying rather his outcomes.
Not seeing that the NHS is badly run by successive Tory governments and the years it takes to sort out appear to be related to the years it has been run down by Tories.
Believing what the right wing media and partisan bullies like Dominic Raab say about the civil service as they have no way of defending themselves publicly against attacks by the media and politicians.

It is this utter credulous ignorance that will hold this country back for a long time to come I'm afraid.

TooBigForMyBoots · 26/04/2023 18:16

@TodayInahurry I get that he is working hard to increase his personal wealth and that of his in-laws, but I'm not seeing him doing much for the UK in his role as Prime Minister.

He is out of touch. Never has been in touch with the reality of living through this cost of living crisis and never will.
Can't stand this government, its total incompetence and corruption. This country is almost at a standstill. The rich get richer. The poor get poorer and the BOE economist tells us to suck it up and get used to being poorer.
No chance.
They need voted out

fussychica · 26/04/2023 18:33

He has no skin in the game at all except things that create more wealth for the already rich. He is so wealthy that he is living in an entirely different world to the rest of us. He seems detached from everything and stays out of pretty much every key issue of the moment. He is becoming almost invisible.
I think the govt are just hoping that as things are so bad and getting worse they'll get voted out so won't have to worry about it anymore. If that's not the case Sunak and his chums need to pull their fingers out pronto.

Kazzyhoward · 26/04/2023 18:37

He was incompetent as Chancellor so why expect him to be a competent PM.

This is the guy who created rules specifically to exclude 3 million workers from covid support and then lie about it when challenged in Parliament.
