Birthday necklace ideas for 16 yo girl (DS’s GF)

We’re going to help DS choose a lovely gift for his GF.

She will be 16.

Ideas trying to find a lovely silver necklace, with moon and stars, or similar.

Budget possibly between £50-80?

Was initially looking at Swarovski but some of the reviews for a few of the necklaces aren’t great, chain too small, pendants tiny.

Posting here for traffic (sorry).

Is it possible to get something of reasonable quality on our budget? Any recommendations?

Have a look at September 22 or Chambers & Beau. Gorgeous pieces.

I'd say hot Diamonds or pandora to impress at that age!

It depends so much on their personal style. My DD would run a mile from either!

Shiela Fleet is lovely and there's a lot in his budget

Don't all young girls like Pandora, they have some lovely stuff and it's silver.

So many fabulous suggestions. Thanks so much all of you and for taking time sharing links etc.

Still looking and sharing your links and suggestions with DS.

He seems to think that his GF would most probably love the Swarovski necklace I’d seen some negative comments about. It’s also in rose gold, not silver.

@Klex there are some beautiful necklaces on the Shiela Fleet site. Might have to buy one myself!

Thanks again! Still deciding!

Could I just ask another question. Perfume ideas for 16 year olds? Nothing too expensive but something edgy, not too girly?

I need to buy a little something too, thought perfume but maybe gift vouchers instead? River Island? Clueless on teen girl fads.

Black opium is ‘grown up’ and popular with young people, smells sweet/coffee

Daylighteyes · 24/04/2023 23:00

Thanks @Twoshoesnewshoes I’ll pop to Boots and check it out.

Zara perfumes are popular with my girls.

if Black Opium is too pricey, Body Shop Black Musk is very similar, and the bottle is a cute little ink bottle!

My 16 year old DD wears this: Ghost Deep Night Eau de Toilette Spray 30ml | Fragrance | Superdrug

I would give her a voucher rather than perfume as smell is so personal! Or perhaps a pretty pair of earrings...

I would assume going by the date of the op which is nearly a year ago, that they got a present

Some brilliant necklace suggestions here, I’d probably go with Miss Dior for the perfume

KnickerlessParsons · 21/02/2024 09:19

Have a look on Etsy.

I disagree with most of these recommendations, they are all a bit middle aged. You don't have the budget for Tiffany silver which is the only silver I see on this age group. It's more common to wear gold toned jewellery. Try Monica Vinedar or something gold coloured with a more designer name. Oliver Bonas do some quirky silver if you're sticking to your original brief. For perfume I'd recommend Zara.
