To think that it’s too easy to like a post on twitter?

Just woke up having dozed off whilst looking at Twitter, to find I’d liked something that really wasn’t that great. I did it a while ago, so am now paranoid checking my profile whenever I wake up. Aibu to think it should be harder than just brushing your hand against your phone screen to like something that could actually have major implications in your life?

Don't you lock your screen?
What major implications could this have in your life?

Thelnebriati · 22/04/2023 23:23

You're really overthinking this. Everyone knows its easy to post a like by mistake as you are scrolling. For it to have any real life consequences someone you know would have to check the list of accounts that have liked that particular post.

Just unlike the post and forget about it.

Now I want to know who/what you liked....Boris, putin, or covid restrictions 🤔

Is it possible to unlike it, I know you can (or used to) do that on FB if you accidentally liked something. There really should be a pop up saying "are you sure?" 😆

That's actually not the case. Twitter often shows me random posts purely because someone I follow had liked it. So it may say TheInebriati liked this post and show on my feed. If she has accidentally liked something it is possible that work colleagues may see it if they mutually follow each other

I think it should be harder for something as innocuous as liking a tweet, or a Facebook status, or whatever, to impact your life!

Thelnebriati · 22/04/2023 23:34

@SeasonFinale I was trying to talk OP down. She really doesn't need to worry about her work colleagues seeing she liked an offensive post.

Runningslow · 22/04/2023 23:41

Fortunately I don’t have work colleagues following me.
But just thinking of all the celebrities who are hounded for liking the wrong things.
And it doesn’t happen when I’ve put my phone down, it happens when I accidentally fall asleep while I’m reading.
And for those wondering - it was gender stuff, which I never comment on in my real name.

It's not like you have to read twitter.

mainsfed · 23/04/2023 00:48

I don’t think I’ve ever accidentally liked a post on Twitter.

You have to hit the tiny heart to like something, whereas it’s much easier to like something on Insta and YouTube Shorts because you can just tap the video to like it.
