He stepped on a spider

With glee/relish…

Man I like and have been attracted to for a while…(we’re not together)
There was a medium sized spider on the floor, one of the women in our party (not keen on spiders) asked him to remove it/get rid of it. He came over and stamped right on it with his big foot, sort of scraped his foot back, laughed and said ‘It’s the circle of life’ and walked off.

Aibu to have gone off him, pretty much immediately?

So disappointed

Ick!

IAcceptCookies · 20/04/2023 20:23

Ugh, what a horrible thoughtless thing to do.
The man's a tosser.

Domino20 · 20/04/2023 20:24

Ewww

Spottycarousel · 20/04/2023 20:24

I wouldn't have liked that. He could have humanely removed it. His taking pleasure in squishing it would put me off him.

GoodByeMyDearBrain · 20/04/2023 20:25

Yeah, I couldn't get over that either. Especially not the glee.

Alwaysrushingaroundffs · 20/04/2023 20:25

I know! I hated him doing that 😩My ex (for all his faults) used to gently put it in a jar and into the garden, this was just cruel and made him look a proper dick

I get freaked out by spiders, but any man which didn't catch and release it would be an instant nope from me.

LittleMG · 20/04/2023 20:25

Absolute no no what a wanker

Qbish · 20/04/2023 20:26

Yuck. And what a way to do it. Idiot.

PonyPatter44 · 20/04/2023 20:26

My DP really hates spiders, but he's never deliberately cruel to anything. I would go right off this man instantly.

Susieb2023 · 20/04/2023 20:26

Honestly think you can tell a lot about a person by watching how they treat the tiniest things. He’s nasty. Lucky you saw that before getting involved with him!

Suzi888 · 20/04/2023 20:26

I’d presume he isn’t keen on spiders and was too scared to pick the spider up.

Could we have just left the spider alone perhaps?

To be honest I wouldn’t think much of the woman in this scenario either!

DeflatedAgain · 20/04/2023 20:27

That's so out of order.

I love all spiders and they're welcome in my home.

What a meanie!

JaffaCake70 · 20/04/2023 20:27

That's just cruel. I'd swerve him 100%

IAcceptCookies · 20/04/2023 20:27

Who are the 24% who think OP is being unreasonable?

Show and explain yourselves!!

Alwaysrushingaroundffs · 20/04/2023 20:27

So shitty for the poor spider, I mean I don’t love spiders, but what had it done wrong ffs, just walking along doing it’s thing

My decorator stamped on a ladybird but I still fancy the arse off him. What is it about tradesmen?

To be fair to him he thought it was poisonous and didn't take glee in it. The circle of life stuff makes him sound like a proper prick. Ew.

GiraffeLaSophie · 20/04/2023 20:28

I would have nothing more to do with him after that. YADNBU!

42isthemeaning · 20/04/2023 20:29

What he needs is a giant boot out of nowhere stamping on him.

MrsBungle · 20/04/2023 20:29

Horrible. I couldn’t be attracted to him.

AreYouHavingAGiraffeNoItsACamel · 20/04/2023 20:29

Wanker

Alwaysrushingaroundffs · 20/04/2023 20:30

Tbf, the woman has quite a phobia of spiders and couldn’t sit at the table any longer. She didn’t ask for it to be killed though and certainly not like that.

The only thing I could possibly think in his favour is that judge he was scared 🤷🏻‍♀️Still, the comment etc…just horrible

OP posts:
musicforthesoul · 20/04/2023 20:30

Eww, yup that would put me off immediately.

Alwaysrushingaroundffs · 20/04/2023 20:31

*Maybe, not judge

OP posts:
Branleuse · 20/04/2023 20:31

Yeah that would put me off someone
