On hold. I wasn't expecting anything other than this tbh but I thought it might be useful to let anyone that hasn't had the 'joy' of trying to contact them know that it is really awful.

Plus the on hold music is horrible.

YANBU - It's awful

YABU - Suck it up

It is ear-bleedingly awful, crackly, harsh and just... horrific. It is some sort of torture designed to get you to give up I think!

I should really ring and check that the money they put in my bank account (back pay for PIP) really IS the correct figure as the letter they said they'd sent never arrived...

But the idea of several hours listening to scratchy crackley Vivaldi loop (I thought they had got rid of that but last time I called there it was, same as ever!) is aversive enough that I'll risk finding out I have to repay a large chunk than bother ringing them to double check!

I remember being with my mother in the 80s, standing in a physical queue at the local office to be seen. It could be over an hour or more

I had the privilege yesterday.
Took 3 hours to get through as kept being cut off as lines were busy. 1 hour 35 minutes on hold all to get a copy of my report. Why don't they just send everybody a copy of their report would probably be more cost effective.

Orangeradiorabbit · 20/04/2023 13:51

That sounds awful. If you can't get through, try first thing tomorrow at 8am. Not a minute after.

existentialpain · 20/04/2023 14:51

It used to be 45 minutes on average in my experience. It's clearly got worse! And yes that music is awful
