To feel smug it’s their own fault?

I worked with four colleagues that for whatever reason management bent over backwards to accommodate them.

All part time and all of them got a Friday off meaning everyone left had to always do late Fridays. They’d worked there longer yet still couldn’t grasp the job, so the more difficult work went to people like me despite us being paid the same. Raised with management who did nothing - and it really was a management issue that they allowed them to get away with this.

Now there’s been a mass exodus from everyone even management apart from these people. I still work for the company but in an entirely different sector. Bumping into one today and they did nothing but moan about how horrible it is now.

Aibu to feel a bit smug, they were well aware that people had to continually pick up their slack and now because everyone else reached their limit they now have to do the actual job.

Did you have contractual hours and was paid for those hours? Or were you forced to work unpaid overtime every Friday night?
