Apropos the mud sticks thread of apparently crazy woman thinking OP is someone else…

How many others have had similar?

when I was 18, completely new to the area in my very own first flat I went to the corner shop to buy food.
the young lad at the till said I was such and such from whatever school.
i explained that I was new to the area and went to school in a different far away part of the city and he was mistaken.
He insisted he was right I reiterated and eventually I left.
walked back, started eating the food I had bought when there was a knock on the door. I tiptoed to the door, looked through the peep hole and there he was and to my horror I realised I hadn’t locked the door, so . I quickly did and he obviously heard the click. Then I snook back to the kitchen just in time to see that lad walk past on the road giving the finger in the general direction of my window…

this still freaks me out a bit when i think about.

I struggle with facial recognition and names which is a nightmare for networking.

there was this one guy who really helped me out with my small business in a time with desperation and I spoke to him over the phone after asking for help on Linked In.

I proceeded to meet him at many events where I thanked him profusely and he changed the topic. After meeting him 5 times and me bringing up the call he told me he had no idea what I was talking about and turns out it was a different guy with the same first name and nothing else in common.
