However

If I go commercial? What can I haven transporter no longer

You need to ask your accountant - who hopefully can manage to interpret your question - "dust up"? I assume you have been hijacked by autocorrect.

What can I haven transporter no longer
Sorry - not getting this bit at all.

You know this is Mumsnet right?

ghostyslovesheets · 17/04/2023 16:08

'Delicious'? are you planning to eat it?

hatersgonahate · 17/04/2023 16:13

Transporters are no longer being manufactured!!
Ford will make them for 2 years or so whilst VW do development

I know but my accountant has no kids so I wanted to ask parents

Yes, you can put the whole lease of an electric vehicle as a business expense and the BIK is only 2%.

hatersgonahate · 17/04/2023 16:19

Can I expense the electric to charge it?

Ford custom transit has 3 seats. I don't see why not.. electric or diesel it's all fuel. Obviously you could only put a portion through

CheeseMcKnees · 17/04/2023 16:27

The newer Transporters have been shite. Mercedes are better made and more reliable. Don’t touch the electric vans (yet).
What spec would the commercial Disco be?

Can I expense the electric to charge it?

Not officially but if you have premises and charge it there no-one will know.

There’s a hire company near me that has some of these…. But if you’re going all electric then, at the moment, even if it’s not a commercial vehicle the BIK is very low. I suspect you’ll still only be able to reclaim half the VAT if you lease a regular passenger version though. The last I saw HMRC didn’t see free electricity as a BIK, but I guess that might have changed
