So 2 adults 3 children wanting to go abroad next year. Somewhere with a shortish flight time - Majorca, Spain but can be further if necessary.

Has to be school holidays as DSS mum is already in trouble for keeping him off school too often so no chance we would take him out of school time.

All inclusive as the drinks prices alone with taking 3 children would be extortionate.

Everything seems to be £5000+ which just seems totally abhorrent for a week abroad?!

We don't have bad jobs but I just really begrudge paying this. Is there a cheaper way to do it? People I know are taking their 3/4 children away and now I'm wondering if they're dealing drugs on the side to pay for it!

Tips please

For 5 of you all inclusive in school hols I’d be expecting around 5k to be honest

We’ve done cheaper holidays abroad but they are either b&b/SC so probably spend the difference eating out anyway or eurocamp type hols which we found surprisingly good

My tip would be look at jet 2 or tui all beach resorts for dates you wanted , filter for AI then sort by price low to high . Then trip advisor hotel and resort. I've often gone for 9-11 nights to get nicer hotel rather than 14 nights.

Another option is to look at the uplift for AI. If it is £100 a day each then that's a lot of drinks! It might not be worth it, but some people like to know what they have to spend If is for kids drinks and self cater or half board cab buy drinks from supermarket (and get them on water most of day)
