Sitting in the very cheapest seats, the bench ones, for a very long performance. Does anyone ever take a cushion - would I even be allowed?!!

Do it. If it’s not allowed they’ll tell you on the way in

seashaken · 14/04/2023 19:50

You could call/email them and ask? I've only been there once but the staff and atmosphere were pretty relaxed.

LIZS · 14/04/2023 19:52

They check your bag on the way in so will tell you if it needs to go in the cloakroom.

hettiethehare · 14/04/2023 19:52

They have blow up cushions for children (DD had one once) - maybe ask if you could have one of those!

Moredarkchocolateplease · 14/04/2023 19:53

It will be fine. They do a bag check it's no different to a scarf.

Very sensible OP!

I would absolutely do this. I’ve been known to take a cushion in a bag out with me to all sorts of things, much to the embarrassment of my dc. I’ve got lupus and can’t stand to be uncomfortable sitting down.

I feel like I’ve found my people here 😁😁

Shakeamaker · 14/04/2023 19:58

I definitely would

BCBird · 14/04/2023 20:00

I think this is sensible, but ì would ring or email to check. U would be extre6annoyed if u took it then had to deposit in the cloakroom. Embarrassment would not even feature on my radar

PiratePetespajamas · 14/04/2023 20:03

Oh good, I’m relieved you don’t all think I’m a nutter!!!😂Has anyone sat in the upper slips - how did you find them?

happyumwelt · 14/04/2023 20:13

It would be a silly thing for them to make a fuss over.

A very slight derail, but I find that using a cushion on a seat that was designed to be sat on without a cushion makes it more uncomfortable! This is my experience with garden benches, etc, but it is possibly just the way I am built.

MargaretThursday · 14/04/2023 20:15

I would think the only reason they'd make a fuss would be if it made you much taller so the person behind couldn't see. I don't know the seating there - might it block the person behind?

Solasum · 14/04/2023 20:17

Might be easier logistically just to take a thick coat that can be folded to make a cushion without uncomfortable buttons/zips etc? Otherwise it will just have to be round your legs anyway

TheYearOfSmallThings · 14/04/2023 20:18

Do it. If they query it you can say it is an Emotional Support Cushion.

kagerou · 14/04/2023 20:56

I've only been once and took a small cushion for back support. No one batted an eyelid and no one said anything at bag check either. I was pregnant at the time and definitely wouldn't have lasted without it 😂
