Pain on eye movement after fever

I can barely move my left eye, it's so sore. I've been in bed with a fever the last few days. Fever stopped yesterday. Does anyone else get this ?

I sometimes get this with a high temperature, pain in both eyes when I look left or right. No idea why though!

Isn't it to do with residual inflammation in the muscles and tissues surrounding?

Or is it the eyeball itself?
