A woman on a f/b hiking page has posted a few selfies as an intro post.
It’s primarily a hiking page, but many people use it to find potential partners.
She’s stated that she’s 42 but points out she doesn’t look it………
All her photos are very heavily and obviously filtered………. All the comments are (mainly) men saying how staggeringly young she looks and she’s responding that so many people tell her so - she’s just lucky - maybe good genes!!!

AIBU to find this frankly ridiculous……… Why the pretence from either end? Surely the men can’t think these are a true likeness? If so, they’d be disappointed to meet her in real life, surely?

Filters for fun I can just about understand, but have no interest in doing……….filters that you pass off as you just look 20 years younger than your actual age, doesn’t make sense to me!!

I know social media is all crap - I was hoping to watch some TV, but my DH has stunk the room out with his rancid farts, so I’m in the other room with my phone for company………..

Why are you so wound up about it? Are these people you know? Do you know for a fact, with or without filters, this woman doesn't look good (for her age or not).

Why do you care? Do you know this woman/the men?

Ah yes, the wild swimming groups where there’s always one posing and pouting in a shein style, tiny cutout swimsuit that would be impossible to swim in!! 😂

Although my swimming buddies laugh at me as I wear a bikini rather than a suit - but that’s because it’s easier to take off and dry yourself in sections and the colour hides the mud and general filth that often clings when you get out of the river!!

I’ve no idea why you give a shit how much male attention this woman gets or why you are keen to let folks know you wear a bikini but I’m fairly sure we can all hazard a guess. Poor you.

I hate filters. I personally NEVER use them because I’m too anxious that people wouldn’t recognise me or would be disappointed if they bumped into me! I’d find that so embarrassing.

I do sometimes smile and cringe to myself when I’ve seen someone in Sainsburys one day and the next there’s a filtered photo up and there’s a 10 year age difference in their appearance but if it makes them feel good/happy/get attention they crave then I don’t see the harm.
