To not want certain adverts to appear

Do any of you know how to stop getting targeted adverts on Mumsnet?
I recently had to coordinate an office move, and had to buy new furniture, and IT equipment, and it was the most stressful thing ever...
Now when I scroll on Mumsnet (something I do to relax), the adverts are all about office furniture, paper shredders, etc... and it brings back all the stress again!

Essentially, this is all to do with cookies. To remove targeted advertising, you need to decline all cookies (including the so called "legitimate interest" cookies which are often difficult to locate and turn off), and do this on all devices. You also need to clear the history on all browsers on all devices. Personally, I will not visit a website where I can't easily turn cookies off. If you replace the word "cookie" with "invasive tracker" it's a better way to think about it.

If you have google home, or Alexa, you can delete the history of everything they've listened to. I have set up scripts to do this daily.

To be honest, this is all a pain in the arse to do and doesn't stop advertising. It just means that my information is as private as I can make it, and even then it is impossible to stop it completely.

It's so very annoying.

Thank you! I'm going to sit down and do this right now. Great way to spend a rainy Easter Monday...
I agree, a total PITA. And I just hadn't thought before now, how horrible it could be for some people to have their past history (eg purchases of medical equipment, etc perhaps) coming back to haunt them.
