To think at 27 I’m still young ish

It was implied the other day that it would be reasonable to expect im going grey.im only 27.

27 is indeed young but it's also not uncommon to start going grey before 30...

My son and my niece got their first few grey hairs when they were in their late twenties.

What sparked the conversation off OP and do early-ish grey hairs run in your family?

Reasonable to expect that you would definitely be going grey, or not unusual for you to have the occasional grey hair?
The first is nonsense. The second is correct.

Being 'youngish' as you put it, doesn't really have that much to do with going grey anyway.

You are young. The age that people start to get grey hair varies tremendously. I think most people don’t have grey hairs at 27 but some do.

Regarding grey hair?.. that can come at any time! My school friend had a grey streak at age 14!! Mum didn't start getting grey hairs til 75. I so far have none (mid 40s)!

My father was totally grey by 30. My Mother didn't get any grey hair until her mid-sixties. My conclusion is that age is not the main determinant factor.

It is young but getting grey hairs in your 20s isn’t uncommon.

I had a few at 27 and at 37 not many more... just stayed the same for ages.

I had a few grey hairs by 27, 35 now and have a few more but still not obvious to other people or requiring hair dye just yet.

Dh just started getting greys in the last couple if years. He's 47. I'm 31 and blonde. None that I can see yet. My nasty went completely white by 25 and died her hair. She lived til 79 so I don't think it has anything to do with age

I’ve got grey hairs and I’m in my early 20s. Found my first on my 16th birthday. Oops

I got my 1st grey hairs at 22, I'm now 38 and have a high percentage grey that doesn't take dye well. It only irritates me because being female I'm expected to dye it,if I were male I could leave it be and no one would ridicule me.
