I need your help Mumsnetters!
New job wants me to send in head and shoulders shot, nice but not too professional/ formal for promo stuff.

Can anyone recommend a filter or editing app that can touch up photo??

I’m pushing 50, and as a chubby mum of two who avoids getting their picture take. I have nothing suitable!
and have developed a slight redness in the face, to go with my tired eyes so want something that will look like me but better…

I was tempted to get a professional one done but have run out of time, need to take something and have it send over by Monday!!

On whoever's phone you're using go to camera, settings and look for beauty mode and turn that right up. If you've just finished work can you get yourself rehydrated and rested before you take the photo?

Primer + full make up (you can get away with more in photos.

Most people look better in a lighter coloured top as it reflects light up into the face. But wear your most flattering colour.

You can hold a white sheet or sheet of foil underneath if you're feeling so inclined!

Turn your shoulders away from the camera at 45 degrees, then turn back to look at the camera. Not straight on like a police line-up.

There will be more tips i suspect if you google - also bound to be some more professional lighting options that professional social media types use - still possible to get delivered before monday i reckon

Well Google obvs brings up 100’s of apps all claiming to be the easiest, best editing photo apps so I was hoping for a recommendation of ones that people already use!

Oh i didn't think of editing apps - i meant tips for taking the photo in the first place, and 'ring light' or 'laptop light for video conferencing'

ChunkaMunkaBoomBoom · 07/04/2023 19:05

Yeah, loads of apps that ‘glow up’ photos!
