AIBU - concerns about breast related symptoms

So I'm 27, young female with a 2 year old. Relatively healthy and active. Past month or so I've been really itchy around the nipple area. At first thought it was eczema but was only the one breast and one nipple and a lot of dry skin at a certain area of the nipple.

Then last night I suddenly felt a pain and felt my breast area and there is a small spot, not visible or red or anything but I can feel it just near the nipple, I have a burning sensation in the breast too and really concerned.

Called GP this morning and got a call back, he asked if I ever breastfed, I did but only for 6 weeks. He instantly said it was fungal and wouldn't warrant an appointment and he would prescribe a cream and obviously if I'm still concerned then to get back in touch??

Any ideas of what I should be looking out for, I don't fit the age bracket for it but I know a girl who was 22 when she had breast cancer?

Get a GP appointment and insist on referral to the breast clinic now. If I'd had a backbone with the shit locum I first saw, I might be well into treatment for Stage 1 instead of barely starting treatment for Stage 2 right now.

Breast cancer is statistically less likely in younger women - but when we do have it, it's more likely to be the aggressive and difficult to treat variety.

@LuvSmallDogs thank you. Would you mind sharing if you had symptoms similar to mine or symptoms you felt were really minimal?
