To ask how did you tell DP you wanted to break up and what was the immediate aftermath

Been with DP 11 years. Have two kids and desperate to leave but very worried about the actual "leaving" part.

If you are desperate to leave then you should speak to DP and explain how you feel and have a plan in place so you can have somewhere else to live and finances too. Things don’t always go to plan though so good luck

What is it you are worried about? Him being unhappy or aggressive/violent?

My sister physically left the house when her husband was away on business.
She left him a note. She was lucky in that she had a job and had been able to find a new place for her and the kids to live.
Obviously that wasn't the end of it but she did have the protection of her new home to rely on and she tried not to physically see much of him after she left. They communicated by email mostly.

I got a flat lined up, furnished it. Then moved out. I felt sick in the run up but I'm 6mo in now and God I'm so fucking happy.
