Smell of smoke holiday caravan

We’ve just checked into a haven caravan and it absolutely stinks of cigarette smoke. The curtains, master bedroom and soft furnishings absolutely stink. I’m a non smoker so I’m quite sensitive to it but DH is a smoker and he commented straight away too. There are no other caravans to move to (I’ve asked) and we are 7 hours away from home. What can I do to get the smoke smell out? I’ve got all windows and doors open

Not much - it needs a deep clean and extended period of airing. Air fresheners might mask it, but it's debatable whether the chemical smell of an air freshener is any better.

They may not have other caravans but they have cleaners. Ask for everything to be steam cleaned to get the smell out, hard surfaces washed down. Makes a massive difference.

Try bowls of vinegar about the place, I have done this in the past and it's helped - although there is the smell of vinegar. Other than that, would joss sticks help?

Oust is quite good as neutralises odours rather than masking them.

Ask for a deep clean and a massive refund. Unacceptable.

Extra cleaning, air freshener and stuff like nutradol? Also I’d want a part refund.

I would get a refund and ring around for local availability. If nothing available then I'd want travel expenses covered too.

If there are no other caravans available, could you ask to be out up in a local B&B, and to retain use of the Haven facilities?
